Behjat Danesh-Khoshboo Obituary

Behjat Bakhti Danesh, a longtime resident of Baton Rouge and a native of the city of Isfahan in Iran, passed away in Sugar Land, Texas, in the early afternoon of October 13, 2021, at the age of eighty-six. She was in good spirits when she suddenly and unexpectedly passed away. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a generous and loving spirit who touched everyone around her with her good deeds. She was an outgoing, energetic woman who dedicated her life to helping others: family, friends, and strangers alike. An intelligent woman with a great sense of humor and a can-do attitude, she had an innovative engineering mind and impressive artistic talents. She was an enthusiastic volunteer for various charitable organizations. For some years she worked in the school crossing division of the Baton Rouge Police Department, protecting the young children, who adored her. For years, foreign students at LSU, far from home in an unfamiliar land, were taken into her heart, were showered with kindness and love, and were fed delicious food, expertly prepared. Many of them came to love her as a second mother and stayed in touch with her for many years after leaving LSU. She is survived by her daughters Farah Azarnia (Shahin Azarnia) and Forough Danesh (Dave Tolle), by her son Mehrdad Danesh, by her four grandchildren Sharareh Azarnia Creel (Siya Creel), Keyon Azarnia, Robert Tolle, and Brooke Tolle (Dylan Merle-Raeburn), by her two great-grandsons Ryan Creel and Evan Creel, by her sister Hamideh Bakhti Zandi, and by many others in her large extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Yousef Danesh, by her parents, Ali and Fatemeh Bakhti, by her brother, Abdoul Hossein Bakhti, and by her daughter-in-law, Mary Lu Martinez Danesh. In accordance with her wishes, she was laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Yousef. Her funeral was private, attended only by her immediate family and a few other members of her faith, whose presence ensured that the appropriate religious customs were observed in her departure to eternity. We all come from almighty God, and we all return to God. In the spirit of her lifetime of good deeds, anyone wishing to express their love and respect and sympathy for her might consider, in lieu of flowers, contributing to some worthy charity, such as St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Council of Baton Rouge, or the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank.
