Charles David Jr. Obituary

Charles M. (Buster) David Jr. passed away at 6 a.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at the War Veterans Home in Jackson, La. He was 91, a native and resident of Jarreau, La. He was a retired teacher and principal from the Pointe Coupee Parish School Board, where he worked as a teacher and principal at Rougon High School. He also retired as a principal of False River Academy. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time at his camp in Cocodrie. He was a WW II veteran having served in the France and Germany campaigns. He received a Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman's Badge and three bronze battle stars. Visiting at Niland Funeral Home in New Roads on Sunday Nov. 2, 2014, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Monday Nov. 3, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lakeland from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Todd Lloyd. Entombment in Chenal Mausoleum. Survivors include 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Ann David of Jarreau, Dr. Susan E. David and husband David Wingerter of Prairieville; 1 brother, Roderick M. David of Jarreau; 2 grandchildren, Logan and Jordan Wingerter. Preceded in death by his wife, Laura Mae David; parents, Charles Murphy David Sr. and Idolie Olinde David. Pallbearers: James R. Jewell, John S. David, William David, Robert J. David Jr., Larry Dunn, Jimmy Dunn. Honorary pallbearers: Robert J. David and Stephen P. David. Ann, Susan and Family,
So sorry for your loss. Buster was always such a positive, and uplifting soul. We can see him up in Heaven checking out the fishing spots. He and your mom back together. How awesome is that.
