Charles Roland Herring

1945 - 2024

Dr. Charles Roland Herring passed away on November 8, 2024, at the age of 79. He was born on January 14, 1945, in Alexandria, Louisiana, to Lillian and Ellis Herring. A graduate of Bolton High School, he attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. After graduation, he joined the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1970 and returned to Alexandria, Louisiana, to begin his chiropractic career. Practicing for over 50 years, Dr. Herring was active in the chiropractic profession serving as President and Board Member of the Chiropractic Association of Louisiana. He was instrumental in writing legislation that benefited the profession. In 1987, he was elected to a four-year term in the Louisiana House of Representatives. He was an active member of the New Day Christian Centre church. Charles is survived by his wife, Beverly, and his children from his first marriage, Lisa (Brent) Ciatti and Paul Herring. A proud PawPaw, he is survived by his grandchildren: Isabel Herring; Nathan (Isabel) Ciatti; Victoria Herring; Adam Ciatti; and, three great-grandchildren. He will be missed by Beverlyâ??s daughters, Melissa (Adam) Dubois and Danell (Jason) Murray, their children, and grandchildren. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Patricia Laing. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at New Day Christian Centre 9481 Florida Blvd., Walker, LA 70785 on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, from 5:30 pm until the beginning of the Going Home Celebration service at 7:00 pm. A private, family burial will be held at The Louisiana National Cemetery in Zachary, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Day Christian Centre.
