Cleve Joseph "Nose" Guidry Jr.

Cleve Joseph Guidry Jr., "Nose", passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Landmark of Plaquemine. He was 94. CJ was a native of Plaquemine, a former resident of Addis and current resident of Plaquemine. His final years were spent at The Landmark of Plaquemine, where he was known by all, a friend to everyone and an advocate for many. CJ was a carpenter by trade and an avid hunter. He had a passion for music and dancing, especially swamp pop, where he and his wife, Shirley, of more than 55 years, graced many dance floors in South Louisiana. Visitation will be at Wilbert Funeral Home in Plaquemine on Tuesday, May 30, from 9 a.m. until Rite of Christian Burial at 1 p.m., conducted by Deacon Bob McDonner. Burial will follow in Grace Memorial Park. CJ is survived by six children, Cathy Pillittere and husband Philip, Karen Safford and husband Dan, Clifford Guidry and wife Tressa, Tracy Son and husband Randy, Timmy Guidry, Donna Guidry and friend Jordan; 11 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren. CJ was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Graves Guidry; parents, Cleve Sr. and Genevieve Gauthreaux Guidry; siblings, Roy Guidry, Betty Guidry Keith; granddaughter, Deanna Joy Safford. Special thanks to granddaughter, Monica Medlen, for her help in his final days. Pallbearers will be Jason Safford, Chucky Son, Joshua Son, Cliff Guidry Jr., Casey Messina and Stephan Dufrene.
