Colleen Wright Babin

1937 - 2021

Colleen Wright Babin, Cubbage, Babin, born December 26, 1937, and died on July 23, 2021, at the age of 83. She was a graduate of Gonzales High School where she was proud to be a majorette and retired from the City of Gonzales in 1998 after 22 years of service. She is survived by her husband (to whom she was married to first and then again until her death), James ""B.B."" Babin; two daughters, Terri Babin Stafford (Mike Stafford), Toni Babin (Morgan P. Davies); two sons, Tim Babin (Charmaine), Troy Babin (Leslie); one step-son, Donald Cubbage (Margaret); one step daughter-in-law JoAnn; four step-daughters, Rebecca Cubbage (Tommy Kenney), Lanessa Babin (James Parker), Tiffany Babin (Ricky Savoy) & Baylie Babin; nine grandchildren; Jacé Templet Babin (Beau), Matthew Babin (Kate), Timmy Babin (Kristin), Mallory Babin Cannon (Andrew), Tabitha & Tara Babin, Jon Paul & Jacob Davies and Michael Stafford (Jordyn); nine step grandchildren, Chantelle Petite, Wayne Cubbage Jr., Charles Cubbage, Cathy Broussard, Carrie Coberly, C.C. Wunstel, Lance & Ross Parker and Ava Savoy; eight great grandchildren, seventeen great step grandchildren, four step great-great grandchildren and one nephew, Tommy Price. She had 18 first cousins who were very special to her. Special work friends, Bonnie, Barbara, Lucille, Betty, Earl, Joe & Marlin. She is preceded in death by her 2nd husband, Ernest Cubbage; Father & Mother, L.E. & Estelle Ficklin Wright; brother, Carlie E. Wright; stepdaughter, Denise Cubbage Couret; stepson, Wayne Cubbage Sr.; Grandparents Lester & Alice Gautreau Wright, Andrew & Nellie Villar Ficklin; Mother & Father-In-Law, Simon Babin & Alice Bourque Babin. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be at St. Theresa of Avila Church, 1022 N. Burnside Ave., Gonzales, LA on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 9:00am-10:30am, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am. Burial will follow at Ficklin Family Cemetery, Galvez, LA.
