Daniel Holliday Obituary

On Saturday November 19, 2022, the world lost the kind and creative light of Daniel Jensen Holliday, II. The first child to Susan and Dan Holliday of Baton Rouge, Jensen was born on July 21, 2003. After attending St. Aloysius Catholic School, Jensen was accepted to and later graduated from New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) in 2022. Molded and admired by the students and staff at NOCCA, Jensen's talents did not go unnoticed. After graduation, Jensen moved to New York to attend the New School at Parsons School of Design. In the short span of 19 years, Jensen managed to exemplify the true spirit of love, caring, and kindness. Even when life seemed an uphill climb, Jensen had a way of making others feel comfortable and accepted - always seeming to find a way to make them laugh. Jensen's sweet soul, endearing nature, and kind and gentle spirit made the world a better place. Jensen is survived by parents, Susan (Brooks) and Daniel Ducatel Holliday, III; sisters, Laura "Caroline" and Charlotte Brooks Holliday; grandmothers, Estelle Borne Holliday and June McDonald Brooks; aunts and uncles, Jennifer Holliday Tompkins (Peter), Chris Holliday Lanata (Tony), Julie Holliday Crifasi (Chris), Ellen Holliday, Matt Holliday (Henry Galindo), and Laura Brooks; cousins, Lydia Tompkins Butler (David), Page Tompkins Goodwin (Ryan), Shelley Tompkins, Nicholas Lanata (Amanda), Natalie Lanata and her fiancé, Jose Hernandez, Camille Lanata, Patrick Crifasi, Jensen "Alex" Crifasi, Grace Anne Crifasi, Nathan Reid, Allison Reid, Brooke Contois Walls (Joshua), Jeanne Contois, and Allison Contois. Preceded in death by brother, James Michael Holliday and grandfathers, Daniel Jensen Holliday and Laurance Waddill Brooks, Jr. Services will take place this Friday, December 2, 2022, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2025 Stuart Avenue, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The funeral mass will begin at 12:00 p.m. followed by a rite of Christian burial at Resthaven Cemetery, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Pallbearers are Millard Callicott, Alex Crifasi, Patrick Crifasi, Henry Galindo, Matt Holliday, Brian Kronenberger, Nicholas Lanata, Jody Montelaro, and Drew Sellers, with Chris Crifasi, Peter Tompkins, Tony Lanata and Max Montelaro serving as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you remember to love God, to love your neighbor as yourself, and to be kind to someone out of the ordinary. Donations can be made to St. Aloysius Catholic School or the charity of your choice.
