Earl David

1934 - 2022

Earl Joseph David was born August 28, 1934, at Avery Island, Louisiana, to Emedis and Eula B. David. The family also lived in New Iberia, Louisiana, but relocated to Baton Rouge so Earl could attend Louisiana School for the Deaf. At LSD, Earl played sports and made many life-long friends. He met the love of his life, Melva June Brownell, after they both graduated from LSD. Earl and Melva were married on December 20, 1958. Earl suffered cardiac arrest following a special afternoon of doing what he loved best, spending time with his family. Earl Joseph David left this earth on Monday, November 21, 2022, surrounded by his family. Earl is survived by his wife of almost 64 years, Melva, his children and spouses: Kenny and Judy David, Connie and Floyd Holton, and Danny and Kelly David; one sister, Judy Ann David; 7 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Emedis and Eula B., a brother, Hayward Miguez, and his close friend, Donald Price. A celebration of Earl's life will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, Saturday, November 26. Visitation from 9:00 am until the service at noon, followed by a graveside service. Guests are invited to wear purple and gold. Reception to follow at First Baptist Church of Denham Springs. Pallbearers will be John Deshotel, Ralph Vice, Ed Wood, Christopher Dorris, Jessie Hoover, and Derek Boeke.
