Frances Jane Shook

Frances Jane Shook, age 89 and resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022. Frances was born in Farmington, Maine. As a resident in Baton Rouge, she worked as a Medical Transcriptionist at the Baton Rouge General Hospital, did mission work sharing Christ distributing Daily Bread Devotions, and was a former Sunday School teacher. Frances is survived by beloved sons, Ronald L. Hoover and wife Sharon, Floyd S. Hoover and wife Janice; stepdaughter, Susan Siler and husband Ron; their sons, Joshua and wife Maylin, Nathan, and Matthew; stepson, Daniel Shook and wife Linda and children, Wesley Smith and Katelyn Smith; Stepson, David Shook and wife Cindy and children, Kristen Woods, Heather Cooper, Stephen Cooper; stepson-in-law, Julian Ed Suazo and sons, Jason Suazo and wife Stacey, Matt Suazo and wife Rakia, and Daryl Reinhardt and wife Jennifer; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Charles Grange and wife Rebecca, Paula Menge, Vickie Olsen, Ivy Starns and husband David, Laurie Gross and husband Greg, Kim Bean and wife Alisa; great nieces and nephews, Elliott Sauvinet, Matthew Bean, Mia-Anne Bean, and Seth McDonald. Preceded in death by husband Oliver James Shook; parents, Shepard Milton Bean and Evelyn Mae Coley Bean; stepdaughter, Olivea Suazo; sisters, Ruth Bean and Bea Grange; brother, George L. Bean; and nephew, George M. Bean. A visitation for Frances will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home in Baton Rouge, LA on Thursday, February 3, 2022 from 12:00pm – 2:00pm with a service starting at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers family and friends may make donations to Gospel Light Baptist Church on Highland Road in Baton Rouge.
