Frank Sagnibene Jr. Obituary

"I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die" John 11:25-26. Frank Sagnibene, Jr., 94, left to be with his Lord on June 6, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at home. Born in 1930, the eleventh of twelve children of Frank and Angeline Sagnibene, he spent his childhood in Amite and Bayou Current. He was a 1948 graduate of Melville High School. Frank served in the United States Army, Active Duty and as a Reservist, from 1951 to 1956, during which time he fought in the Korean War. Upon returning from military service, he spent his adult life in Baton Rouge. Frank was a Licensed Cosmetologist and one of the first members of the American Hairdressers Association. He owned and operated Frank and Bennie's Beauty Salon with his wife Bennie at its Perkins Road location for 55 years, until his retirement at 85. He cherished his work, was a consummate learner and took great joy in the customers who came to the Shop over the years. Frank and his wife Bennie were members of St. Aloysius Church, almost from its beginning, and were fixtures at 4:30 Mass on Saturdays. Frank – affectionately called "Bae" - is survived by the love of his life, his soul mate, business partner and attentive caregiver - his wife of 70 years Bennie Donachrichia Sagnibene. He is also survived by his son, Frank Sagnibene III (Laurie Guillory), his beloved granddaughter Emily Sagnibene Delgado (John) and Lucy Delgado. Frank is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and six sisters. Special Thanks to Dr. Mike and Janette Rolfsen, Stanford Place Neighbors – the Messer, Persac, and Pigion families – Mrs. Diane Olinde, the caregivers and nurses from Audubon Health and Hospice and his sitters – especially Mrs. Deborah Clark and her husband Ray. Visitation will be held at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2025 Stuart Avenue, Baton Rouge, La. 70808 from 9:30 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 - celebrated by Father Frank Uter, assisted by Deacon Chauvin Wilkinson. Interment to follow at St. George Mausoleum. Pallbearers are Benjamin "Ollo" Mollere, Mike Dao, Paul Dao, John Pritchard, Dave Lefeve and David Persac.
