Griffin "Papa" Muse Jr. departed this life on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014, at his residence in Paincourtville, LA. He was 104, and a native of Paincourtville, LA. Visiting from 5:00 pm to Religious Services at 7:00 pm Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, and on Saturday Dec. 27, 2014, from 9 am until Funeral Services at 11:00 am at St. Charles Baptist Church, Paincourtville, LA, conducted by Rev. John Cooks. Burial at the Church Cemetery. Survived by 2 daughters, Cora Lee Muse (Eugene) Jones and Verina Maggie Muse James of New Orleans, LA; a granddaughter he raised as a daughter Charmaine Muse, 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Griffin Muse Sr. and Verina Keasley Muse, his wife Corestine Williams Muse; 1 son, Samuel Muse; 1 grandson, Wayne Jones; 2 brothers, Samuel and Freddie Muse, 1 sister Ada Muse; 2 sisters in law, Ada B. Muse and Gertrude Williams Hall; 3 brothers in law, Willie Williams, Augusta Williams and Ollie Williams; 1 son in law, Willie James.
