Idris Abdul Malik, entered into eternal rest on Monday January 17, 2022, in Baton Rouge, LA. Idris was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on April 8, 1962, a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA. Idris is survived by his wife of 22 years, Samantha C. Abdul Malik; mother, Aisha Malik; sons, Daniel Christopher (Erika) and Donnell Christopher; brothers, Kareem Malik, Bilal Malik (Dawn) and Jameel Malik; sister, Zakiya M. LaGrange (Allen); mother-in-law, Geraldine Christopher; sisters-in-law, Agnes C. Carlins (William),Tangy C. Mellion and Aretha Christopher; brother-in-law, John Christopher (Phyliss); aunt, Eloris W. Mills; uncles-in-law, Lunzy Christopher (Victoria) and Joseph Louis Frank; aunt-in-law, Bernadette Christopher; Goddaughter, Reaysha S. Jackson; 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his father, Dauwd Malik and father-in-law John Christopher. Idris was a graduate of Walter L. Cohen, Senior High School in 1981. He attended LSU and Southern University of Baton Rouge, LA. He served in the Army National Guards from June 1983 to June 1990, where he received the Army Achievement Medals in 1985 and 1987. Idris was a faithful employee at Manda Fine Meats for 34 years and the owner of Dean Malik Center. St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and surrounding Churches, family, friends, employees of Manda Fine Meats, Baton Rouge General Hospital Wound Care Clinic and The Hill Crew are invited to attend the funeral services. Visitation Saturday, January 29, 2022 10:00 am until religious service at 11:00 am, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 1120 Myrtle Street, Baton Rouge, LA.
