I will always remember how 'Senator DeBlieux' took a personal interest in an adolescent who had dreams of being involved in government and politics. He was my personal guide on a tour of the state capital, the legislature, and the office of the governor. He gave a young man some insight into the craft of government.

Our brother, former Senator J. D. DeBlieux lived a life dedicated to the greatest two commandments: 1. LOVE GOD ABOVE ALL THINGS 2. LOVE YOUR NEIBHBOR AS YOURSELF. All other laws revolve around these two. J.D.'s Biblical by-line was, "WHAT DOES IT PROFIT A MAN TO GAIN THE WHOLE WORLD AND LOSE HIS SOUL?" J.D/ spent his lifetime in the pursuit of eternal salvation and I believe he had a paid-up policy. God rest his soul! (sister) ALMA DeBLIEUX HONEYCUTT

J.D. was a gentleman of the 1st order. He had courage of his convictions and was a strong Christian. He was married to my cousin, Dorthy. I counted it a privilege to work as a page for him

in the Senate.

I worked for Mr. DeBlieux back in 1976. He was a fair, honest and more than patient boss. He will be greatly missed.

A man of courage, kindness, who was thoughtful and gentle. We don't see many of his kind in our political process. I liked him a lot.
