JoAnn Adams Keller

1934 - 2023

JoAnn Adams Keller, 88, a native and lifelong resident of Baton Rouge passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023. She was born on November 21, 1934, in Baton Rouge, La to Homer Cassel Adams and Bertha Victoria Cockerham. She was married to Robert "Bob" Keller (Baton Rouge) in Sacramento, CA while he was stationed at the U. S. Air Force Base. They were married for 35 years and had four children. She graduated from Baton Rouge High School and attended a Business College. She worked at Ryan Aircraft (now Baton Rouge Airport) and on a few occasions, she and her children were able to fly with pilots in their small airplanes. She later worked in Industry and Chemical Sales for Cerfact/Kem out of Atlanta, GA and eventually opened her own Chemical Sales business, Specialty Chemical. She and her friend Peggy Cazes started the Villa del Rey Garden Club and later she was the Manager at the Baton Rouge Garden Center. Winning blue ribbons for her arrangements at the Garden Center Shows was her greatest hobby and she loved exotic flowers the best. Beautiful flower arrangements were always on display in her home. Watching LSU Football games with her friends was her other passion. Special thanks to Pete Dyer, her companion of 26 years, for loving and caring for her. Survived by: A son, Mark S. Keller (Dina) of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee; and two daughters, Karen R. Keller of Baton Rouge; and Kristie Keller Pitre (Kenneth) of Prairieville. Siblings: Blakey Jr. Adams; Victor Adams; Tommy Adams; Georgia Lewis; Betty Jane Wood; and Sandy Kosarek. Grandchildren: Paul Pitre (Hien); Stephanie Grennan (Michael); Christopher Pitre; Branden Pitre; Zachary Keller (Cammy); Peyton Keller and Dylan Pitre and Great-grandchildren: Sloane & Brooks Grennan; Scottie Jo Keller (her namesake); and Lucas & Charlie Pitre. Predeceased by: Parents, Homer Adams; George B. and Bertha Adams. A son, Randall Brent Keller and sister, Judy Anderson and ex-husband, Robert D. Keller. A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 31 at 2:00 pm in the Mausoleum Chapel at Greenoaks Cemetery followed by the burial. The Reverend Michael J. Moroney will officiate the burial.
