John Landry Obituary

John Benjamin Landry, Jr. passed away on March 27, 2022, at the age of 97. He was born on January 16, 1925 in Garyville, LA. He was a WWII veteran who gladly served his country. He was an expert welder, proud member of the Boilermakers Union, and retired from Delta Tank Manufacturing after 35 years. John was a country boy at heart, who loved being at home surrounded by his family, working in his garden, building anything with his hands, and enjoyed fishing, and hunting in his early years. He was our hero, our rock, and the most generous soul there was. Those who knew him loved him and he will be dearly missed. John is survived by his daughter, Mary Alice Landry; grandchildren, Roxanne Lemoine Butler, Thear Jules Lemoine, and Antoinette Marie Klima; great-grandchildren, Emily Butler Soileau, John Benjamin Butler, Landry Jules Lemoine, Trent Michael Todd, and Landon Roman Hunter; and his youngest brother, Garland Landry. John is preceded in death by his spouse, Ann Silvio Landry; and his parents, and siblings. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday, April 1, 2022, from 8:30am to 9:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11441 Goodwood Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, at 10:00am. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
