Keith Brooks Sr. Obituary
Keith Anthony Brooks, Sr. heard the gentle voice of God whispering in the early morning hours of June 28 th and he responded to his voice to rest from his labor. Keith was born on June 15, 1961 to the union of the late Ben and Mary Jefferson Brooks. This gentle giant of a man was a graduate of Marion Abramson Sr. High (New Orleans), attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana (Lafayette Campus) and served in the United States Navy for over 20 years with several medals of commendation before retiring. After Hurricane Katrina he relocated from New Orleans to Gonzales, LA. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Eddie, Bennie and Calvin Brooks as well as his bonus/blended family son, Dolan Dilbert II. Memories of a man who loved God and his family will forever be cherished by his wife, Pastor Carline T. Brooks, his children, Tamyra, Keith, Jr, Carvona and Janiya Brooks. His grandchildren, Kiyah and Tyler Brooks. Siblings, Trenelle R. Brooks (Newark, OH), Shawn Q. Brooks (Memphis, TN), Tracy, Betty, Larry and Terrie Fulton, Miracle Ellis, Lendell and Willie T. Horne. Mr. Keith's bonus/blended family, Ronald (Dennetta), Kermit (Ashley), JaVonda Gibson and Ariell (Willie) Anderson.with an additional 10 grandchildren and 2 great children within the bonus/blended family. In addition, he had a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. Pastors, officers and members of New Covenant Christian Center, Amazing Grace Church of Deliverance, Divine Grace Temple, Gaza Missionary Baptist Church, Household of Faith and all neighboring churches, members of American Legion #502, Ascension Youth Basketball Association (AYBA), are all invited to attend and share in the "Celebration of Life Services" on Monday, July 10, 2023 at New Covenant Christian Center, 6515 East Myrtle Avenue, Baker, LA 70714, Apostle Michael L. Smith, Sr., Officiating. Visitation from 9:00 am until 10:00 am. Celebration service starts at 10:00 am. An additional visitation and viewing will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Hambrick Family Mortuary located at 808 W. Worthy Street, Gonzales, LA 70737. Interment: With Full Military Honors will take place at Port Hudson National Cemetery, 20978 Port Hickey Road, Zachary, LA 70791. Services Entrusted to Hambrick Family Mortuary, Inc.
