Richard Lee Jolla

Richard Lee Jolla, native of Woodville, MS and resident of Baton Rouge entered peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, January 13, 2023 at the age of 87. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Gladys Brown Jolla; two daughters, Dwanda Jolla Fisher and Monica Jolla Jackson (Rodney); eight grandchildren, Derrick Woods, Deonna Hayes, Tyresha Henderson, Vincent Reed, Vince Parker, Vintrell Parker, Ventraya Reed, and Dezmon Parker; four great-grandchildren, Taliyah Reed, Tyler Matthews, Jaedyn Smith and Erie George; three sisters, Alice Clay, Elnora Randolph and Mary Jolla; three sisters-in-law, Wilma Jolla, Linda Fields (Curtis) and Gwendolyn Diane Friar (Leon); three goddaughters, Sherill Jolla, Cary Lynn Clark Hollins and Jasmine Grover and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon Sr. and Elnora Jolla; three brothers, Leon Jolla Jr, Willie Jolla and Nathaniel Jolla; four sisters, Edna Mae Williams, Delia Lollis, Lenora Robertha Allen and Martha Moses; son Vincent Parker; three brother-in-laws, Jasper Lollis, Lawrence Clay and Eugene Allen; two sister-in-laws, Annie Lee Jolla and Thelma Jolla. Viewing will be held at Greater King David Baptist Church on Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 9:00 am until service at 11:00 am conducted by Reverend Dr. John E. Montgomery. Interment will follow in Winnfield Memorial Park.
