Robert Wayne Story born April 7, 1942 passed away June 14, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, John B. Story and Alma Mae Lanning Story, a brother John Thomas Story and a sister Mayme Emily Story Crochet and husband Rev. Norman Crochet. Robert was a Combat Veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of the. First Baptist Church Baker, and a graduate of Baker High School. Robert was an avid gardener, recycler, and collector. He loved to travel visiting most of the USA. He is survived by his sister- in- law, Joanne Story, nieces Alma Story, Patricia Story Hancock and husband Bishop Kevin Hancock, nephew John Leonard Story, wife Renee' Story. Norman Bradley Crochet, and wife Melissa, Donna Sue Crochet Baker and husband James and his aunt, D'Juana Gail Lanning. Bobby learned his horticultural skills from his father, his love of good food from his mother and his work ethic from both parents. Bobby never met a stranger, making friends everywhere. He was always available with a helping hand regardless of the circumstances. Bobby's family wishes to thank Pamela (Fluffy) and husband Dywayne Montelaro for their care of Bobby these last few months of his life. A brief service and interment at the Louisiana National Cemetery, Port Hudson is scheduled for Wednesday June 26, 2024, 2 p.m.
