Roberta Williams Redditt

A virtuous woman has taken wings as an eagle and her spirit has flown to a higher place with God. She knew that true life was found in serving God. Sister Roberta Williams Redditt was born August 12, 1958, in Baton Rouge, LA to the late Robert Williams, Sr. and Gloria Mae Davis. She departed this life on March 31, 2012 at Tulane Medical Center, New Orleans, LA. She was baptized at an early age and rededicated her life to Christ and accepted Jesus as her Savior under the leadership of Bishop Eugene Harris of the New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church. She served faithfully in the NJFGBC Adult Choir, Sisterhood, and also served as President of the Pastor Support Committee. She believed that whatever Bishop Harris wanted he should have. She served her church and Pastor faithfully until her death. She was employed by the State of Louisiana Department of Corrections at Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women as a Corrections Lieutenant. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Vilmore Redditt, Jr. whom she loved and cherished. She leaves to cherish her memories: (3) children: Corry J. Williams, Marcus T. Stewart, Sr., and Markisha L. Stewart, all of St. Gabriel, LA; (7) grandchildren: Amber & Briyahn Patin, Marcus Stewart, Jr,, Marquez Stewart, Kaitlyn Ambeau, Courtney Williams, and Markayla Stewart; stepmother: Augustine J.W. Jordan; (9) sisters: Olivia (James) Williams, Augustine W. Jackson, Althea Neff, Alicia (Harold) Davis, and Joyce Moore, all of Plaquemine, LA, and Yolanda (Herbert) Watson of Plano, TX, Mary (Harvey) Jones of Little Rock, AR, and Gloria Casey and Connie Drake of Baton Rouge, LA (1) brother: Norwood Ray Williams of Los Angeles, CA; (1) sister-in-law: Joyce Williams of Plaquemine, LA; (3) godchildren: LeKevin Mitchell, Sr. of Plaquemine, LA, Yaosha Tasker and LaMarcus Jones, both of St. Gabriel, LA; (3) sisterly friends: Darlene Carlin of Plaquemine, LA; Sharon Ambeau of St. Gabriel, LA; Erica Polk Freeman of Fort Worth, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Williams, Sr. and Gloria Mae Davis; her husband, Vilmore Redditt, Jr.; her maternal grandparents, Joseph and Eliza Davis; and her paternal grandparents, Felix and Mary Williams.
