Roy K. McDonald, Sr.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing." II Timothy 4:7-8. A beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 75 and a resident of Livingston. He proudly served his country in the US Army and retired as a Millwright from Kaiser Aluminum. Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Livingston on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 beginning at 10:00am. Dr. Leo Miller will conduct funeral services at 12:00pm. Burial will follow in Old Red Oak Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years Carolyn Gail Higgins McDonald, son, Roy K. McDonald, Jr., five daughters; Angela Jones, Cynthia McDonald Sykes, Traci Wilson, Toni Britz, and Tara Corkern, fourteen grandchildren; Mandie, Kasey, Cheyenne, Brennen, Haley, Devin, Jade, John Tyler, Courtney, Christa, Colbi, Mackenzie, Paige, and Cade, seven great-grandchildren; Kennen, Zoie, Aurora, Gabby, Chloie, Kara, and Makayla, four brothers; Lee Alton McDonald, Earl Ray McDonald, Bob McDonald, and Leslie McDonald, four sisters; Daisy Lemoine, Anna Kuhn, Violet Ellis, and Judy Leach, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Virgil and Irene McDonald, three brothers; Dallas, Jessie, and Clifton, and sister Virgie. Pallbearers will be; Ray McDonald, Robert Higgins, John Higgins, John Britz, John Wilson, Jamie Corkern, and Kile Brettillo. Honorary pallbearers will be; Aaron Hughes, Roy Schenk, and David LeBlanc. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed gardening, meeting with his brothers and friends on the porch drinking coffee and spending time with his family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Livingston Building Fund or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
