Trey's father worked with my father, who passed away in February 1995. Trey's father, Victor, was a pallbearer in my father's funeral, Richard ("Rick") Patrick O'Leary. I am his oldest daughter, Alyssa Tara. I am also a college student and a year older than Trey was. My family is praying for y'al and I am deeply saddened by this tragic event. How long will the pain last?" A broken hearted mourner asked me.
"All the rest of your life" I have to answer truthfully.
We never quite forget, no matter how many years pass, we remember.
The loss of a loved one is like a major operation. Part of us is removed,
and we have the scar the rest of our lives. as the years go by, we manage.
There are things to do ,and people to care for, tasks that call for our
full attention.
But the pain is still there, not far below the surface.
We see a face that looks familiar, hear a voice that echoes, see a
photograph in
someone's album, see a landscape we once saw together, and it seems as
though
a knife is in the wound again. But not so painfully. And mixed with joy
too.
Because remembering a happy time is not all sorrow, it brings back
happiness with it.
How long will the pain last?
All the rest of your life. But the things to remember is not only the pain
will last, but
the blessed memories as well.
Tears are proof of life.
The more love, the more tears.
If this be true, how could we ever ask that the pain cease altogether.
For then the memory of love would go with it.
The pain of grief is the price we pay for love.

I just can't believe Trey is no longer with us. He was just a very upbeat person with a beautiful spirit. His smile will always be remembered. I will always remember him as that little boy who came to our house all the time to play video games and teenage mutant ninja turtles with Coy.

Our prayers are with you all. I can't even begin to imagine the pain you all are going through right now. I have a 20 year old and my heart is breaking just trying to put myself in your shoes.
We will miss seeing Trey on the soccer field, there will definitely be a void felt there. He was so much like Vic, quiet, but efficient!
Cheryl, Vic, our prayer is that the Lord will comfort you during this most difficult time. I know it is hard not to ask "why". Our children are supposed to bury us, not go before us. I pray your strength will come from knowing that Trey is in a better place, though it was not fair his life was cut way too short.
