COACH TURNER WAS MY FOOTBALL & BASEBALL COACH AT ROBERT E. LEE HIGH SCHOOL FROM 1959 THROUGH 1962. HE WAS THE GLUE THAT KEEP US TOGETHER AND FOCUSSED SO THAT A YOUNG BUNCH BOYS COULD EXCEL IN EVERY CATAGORY OF SPORTS. I AM TRULY SADDEN BY HIS PASSING. HE IS ONE OF THE REASON ALL OF US HAD SUCH A GREAT EXPERIENCE OF OUR TIME IN HIGH SCHOOL. I AM SO GREATFUL TO HAVE KNOWN HIM AS A TEACHER AND A COACH BUT MOSTLY BECAUSE HE HAD SUCH A GREAT ATTITUDE ABOUT EVERYTHING. P.S. HE NEVER MISSED A REUNION !

I'm very sad to hear of Coach Turner's passing. I played JV football at Lee High School for him in 1969 when he was the backfield coach and Bobby Wicker was the line coach. They were two of my favorite coaches, and I will forever remember them for the values in life that they instilled in me and my teammates. No truer words can be written about Coach Turner than what was stated in his obituary. " He was a competitor, compassionate, humble, gentle, kind, and a loving gentleman. I am just sorry that I couldn't have told him what a difference he made in so many young men's lives, and I am truly sorry for your loss. RIP Coach, and give my best to Bobby when you see him.

Uncle Winton is such an awesome human ! I married his nephew Jay Cox in Feb of 1985 and he welcomed me with open arms into the family. He’s always has a special place in my heart because of his calming presence and unconditional love for family . We loved all our special memories of all those Christmas get togethers at the Turners ! The Lord has big plans for him in heaven ! You will be missed so much but I know we all have a beautiful guardian Angel watching over us all now. You will be missed ! Love always Debbie Cox ❤
