Marcus Bronson Stratton

Marcus Bronson Stratton, 87, passed away November 17, 2023 at his home in Lawrenceburg. Born in Anderson County on December 21, 1935, Bronson was the son of Cecil Stratton and Eva Robinson Stratton.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Edna McDowell, Robert Stratton, Goldie Kinder, Clinton Stratton, Coy Stratton, Roy Stratton, Walter Stratton, Joyce Stratton, Pauline Stratton, Lucille Stratton, and Randall Garvice Stratton.

A 1956 graduate of Western High School, Bronson served his country in the U.S. Army, and worked as an employee for Wild Turkey Distillery for 46 years. He was a member of the Alton Baptist Church. His enjoyments included playing the guitar, rabbit hunting, and building things with wood, including walking canes, tables from whiskey barrels.

Bronson is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marcus Carolyn Motley Stratton; his children, Charlotte Marie Warford (husband Davy) and Timothy Darryl Stratton (wife Reva), both of Lawrenceburg, Buford Lyons Disponett (wife Jayne) of Lexington, and Nancy Carol Lake of Versailles; 6 grandchildren, Tasha, Kesha, Kyle, Lyon, Lance and Ashley; 9 great grandchildren; two brothers, Donnie Stratton (wife Gale) and Leon Stratton (wife Jean); and a sister-in-law, Lavon Ruble Stratton.

Visitation will be held from 11 am – 1 pm Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023 followed by the funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM Tuesday at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Bro. Gary Ellcessor and Dr. Bob Ehr will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kyle Stratton, Monty Stratton, Shane Stratton, Shannon Stratton, Dale Stratton, and Floyd Stratton.
