Dalton Best Obituary
Dalton was born in Augusta, Georgia. He was a graduate of Grovetown High School where he was an excellent soccer goalkeeper. Dalton was involved with Greater Augusta Soccer Officials Association and worked as a soccer referee. Known for having an old soul, Dalton loved the 70s and most gen-res music and was an avid reader. He was loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed.
Family members include his parent: Jimmy Best and Sheila Stencel; maternal grandmother: Judy Stencel and maternal grandfather: Dale Stencel; uncles: Scott Stencel (Shiela), Troy Stencel (Suzanne), Mark Stencel (Katy), Johnny M. Best (Bonnie), Jerry Best (Carrel) and Billy Best (Martha); aunts: Sharon Lapp (Tony), Judy Wilson (Jeff) and Tammy Vick (Tater); niece: Daphne Walker, several cousins and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his brother: Jamie Best; paternal grandparents: John J. Best and Helen Dilbeck Best and maternal grandmother: Jean Stencel.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 6:00 PM in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Nick Carnes officiating.

Me and Dalton were in school in grovetown from 6th grade until we graduated in 2016. Had lots of classes with him. Very smart kid. Hate to hear about this. RIP Dalton

I am so sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of teaching Dalton in 4th grade. I have often thought of him over the years and remembered him fondly. He was so kind and inquisitive and such a beautiful person. I will hold your family in my prayers.

i used to work with dalton. he was always so kind to me and always knew how to make everyone laugh. he was one of my favorite coworkers. sending prayers and love to his family
