In Loving Memory of Ms. DeLois Eugenia Ford

January 24, 1951 – December 6, 2025

In the early hours of December 6, 2025, Ms. DeLois Eugenia Ford peacefully entered her eternal home.

Born in Galveston, Texas, to the late James Wesley Ford and Ernestine Hamilton Ford, she was raised in Selma, Alabama, and graduated from R.B. Hudson High School. During the height of the Civil Rights Movement, DeLois courageously marched for justice and equality, shaping a lifelong legacy of strength and purpose.

At age 18, she moved to New York, where she built a distinguished career in banking with Citibank and Fleet Bank. Later, she dedicated her life to serving others as a Case Manager with the YWCA, supporting survivors of domestic violence. In 2021, she relocated to Augusta, Georgia, to be closer to family. DeLois was known for her honesty, sharp wit, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her home was a place of wisdom, laughter, and love.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved daughter, Deborah Williams of Augusta, Georgia; her grandchildren: Zekia Gonzalez, Samuel Gonzalez, Cory Ford, and Justin Ford (New York), Jekia Ford (Atlanta, Georgia), and Jalica Freeman (Kingsland, Georgia); her great-grandchildren: Breonna Ford, Cory Ford Jr., and Kingsley Gonzalez (New York), and Amira Ford (Augusta, Georgia). She is also lovingly remembered by her nephews: Victor, Vincent, Brian, and Blair Moore, and the late Dewayne Moore.

Ms. DeLois Ford's life reflected courage, integrity, and deep love. Her legacy continues through all the lives she touched.
