Melvis Strickland Obituary
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Platt's Belair Road Chapel with the Rev. Barry Clanton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Strickland, an Augusta native, had been a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church for over 10 years. She loved shopping and enjoyed pampering herself and spoiling her canine companion, Sadie. She'll be remembered by her family as a faithful wife and loving mother and grandmother.
In addition to her husband, Ed, she is survived by her children; Paul Albert Strickland, Janet Costello and Teresa Birong (Shawn), her grandchildren; Joshua Birong, Brittany Jacobs (Cory), Courtney Costello, Summer Costello, Taylor Johnson (Walker) and Emily Huckabee, and her great grandchildren; Kensley Jacobs, Bentley Jacobs and Brooks Johnson. She's also survived by her brothers in law; Ronnie Strickland (Brenda) and Eugene Strickland (Judy).
She was preceded in death by her son, Anthony "Todd" Strickland, her sister, Joyce Pratt and her brother-in-law, Joseph Strickland.
