Barbara Sharpe, 95, passed away on August 1, 2024. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, George Sharpe (January 2009). Barb is survived by her four children, George ‘Kevin’ Sharpe (Glen Burnie), Catherine Sharpe (John McKeighan, Iowa), Mary Phelps (Bob, Indiana) and Tracey Telfer (Mark, Severn). She had 10 grandchildren, 15 great- grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Barb enjoyed doing word searches to keep her mind active, loved to tell jokes, play bingo and played the harmonica, which she did in church at Harundale Presbyterian. Barb also enjoyed the many friends she made while living at her apartment and would greet everyone with a warm smile. She would call people on their birthday to play Happy Birthday on the harmonica for them. During COVID, she would call members of the church and play hymns for them to lift their spirits. She was active in the church and enjoyed her church family. She did not know a stranger and would talk to everyone. She was known as a ‘social butterfly.’
Visitation will be held at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, PA, on Sunday, August 11th, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, 10:30 AM, at Harundale Presbyterian Church, 1020 Eastway, Glen Burnie, MD 21060. Interment to follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Harundale Presbyterian Church.

Barb and I became instant friends the minute we met. We were in church together. She loved the bells and our choir. She loved her church and said it was her home and family. Everyone loved her. I was blessed to get phone calls and she´d play How Great Thou Art she knew that was my favorite hymn. She played at my husband´s funeral in 2015. What a beautiful friend and true blessing she was. I will surely miss her but I rest in God´s promise that we will be together again. RIP Barb and just know how much you are loved.

Just hearing of the passing of Mrs. Barb and I am so sad. I loved her so much and she was the sweetest person. Such a warm soul and she loved to play the harmonica for me and stop and tell me jokes. I will miss her beautiful smile and the hugs she shared with me. Sleep in peace Mrs. Barbara from Kendra (Arundel Woods office staff). My condolences and prayers to Tracy and Kevin your Mom was a Angel and it was a pleasure to know her.
