John Fisher Obituary

John Wayne Fisher, 80, of Hillsville, VA, formerly of Carroll County, MD passed away peacefully at BridgingLife's Dove House, Westminster, MD.

He was born on March 12, 1945, in Maryland to the late Jerome Thomas Fisher and Mary Catherine Blair Fisher Castle. He was predeceased by his wife, Della West Fisher who died on March 20, 2025.

John was born and raised in Maryland. He graduated from Westminster High School. He started his career as a master plumber then went on to have a long career as a maintenance foreman with the former Chesapeake Finished Metals, Elkridge, MD until his retirement. John and his wife Della were horse enthusiasts and enjoyed trail riding for many years. He also enjoyed the company of his dog, "Luna". He loved weekend visits from his family - especially from his grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Michael McDonald of Finksburg; granddaughters, Tori and Conor Georgius of Westminster and Sydney McDonald and fiancé Chris Bauer of Finksburg; great-granddaughter, Peyton Georgius of Westminster and his late wife Della's daughter, Sherry Pastor of CA. He is also survived many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by brothers Jerome Fisher and Burgan "Ollie" Fisher.

Services will be private at John's request.

Those desiring may make memorial donations to BridgingLife's Hospice, c/o: Development Office, 200 Memorial Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157 or to a horse rescue organization of your choice.
