Kennard “Ken” Haskins, born on June 5, 1973, in Washington, DC, was a man whose life radiated kindness, curiosity, and joy. He graduated from Eastern High School and later studied Computer Programming at Strayer College. Ken’s love for technology shaped his career, including a 10-year tenure at Inovalon, where he advanced to Supervisor in the Technology Department and served as a Chairman on the Change Advisory Board (CAB). Known for his professionalism, kind and approachable demeanor, Ken earned the admiration of colleagues and friends alike.
Outside of work, Ken was a passionate fan of the New York Giants, an avid collector of vintage toys, and a lover of 80s and 90s music. Ken loved grilling and found joy in preparing meals for family and friends. He enjoyed yard work as well, describing it as therapeutic and a way to connect with nature. Family gatherings often saw Ken conversational in sports talk or entertaining children, earning him the affectionate nickname “Big Uncle Ken.” His warmth, humor, and infectious smile could brighten any room, making him beloved by all who knew him.
Ken’s spiritual journey began with a home Bible study with Clarzell “Eric” Minor, a Christian Jehovah’s Witness, in 1996. He got baptized in 1997 and would serve as a Ministerial Servant in the Landover Congregation until 2008. His faith and dedication left a lasting impact on neighbors, colleagues, and others within his Christian faith. He always found joy in helping others, especially the elderly or the sick.
In 2005, Ken married his best friend Selena, the love of his life, and they welcomed their son, Landon, in 2007. Together, they enjoyed trips to the beach, game nights, concerts, and spiritual assemblies with their Largo Congregation. Ken’s devotion to his family was unwavering; he worked tirelessly to support them and did his best to prioritize their needs.
After a courageous battle with cancer, Ken passed away on March 5, 2025. He is survived by his devoted wife, Selena; beloved son, Landon; mother, Vernell Richardson; father, Raymond Haskins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerron Graston. He leaves behind two brothers, Robert Haskins, Anthony Haskins, and one sister, Adrianne Haskins; mother-in-law, Celestine Freeman, father-in-law Patrick Freeman, six brothers-in-laws: Terrence “TJ”, Ricky, Melvin, Calvin, Michael, and Maurice Sr. Five sisters-in-law, Gwendolyn “Yvette,” Crystal, Rae, Gladys, and Rachel, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Ken remained faithful until the end, demonstrating resilience and determination to honor Jehovah God. He leaves a legacy of faith, optimism, and kindness. We look forward to his resurrection as promised in Revelation 21:3-4. He will be missed and remembered by all who knew him.

It's still hard to really come to terms w him not being here...I met Kennard when I was 12 and he immediately affectionately became my big brother, my protector, my mentor, my counselor. We forged a very tight relationship and although life became exceedingly busy with work, marriages, and family... we always found our way back to checking in and on one another. I have so many memories when I was younger and he was there to help me get through so much. Even was there when my 2nd child was born...I'm glad that before he left this earth I was able to express my gratitude and how much I loved and appreciated him. Until we meet again...Rest peacefully, #MyBrother

Ken was an absolute gent of a man. A group of us irish girls went over to Washington dc over 10 years ago and had the pleasure of working and knowing Ken. He made us feel so welcome and we were always greeted with his warm smile. His happiness was infectious even in the middle of a night shift. He will always be a big part of our adventure in America. My condolences to his family and this world for his loss. Rest in peace ken

Ken was the best manager hands down. My interview was more of a "get to know this person to see if they fit with my team". We worked hard but we laughed even harder. He´s truly one of a kind and will be missed.
