Robert Weltner Obituary
Marydel, MD - Robert E. Weltner Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away on Monday, October 13th, 2025. Born on April 1st, 1938, in Baltimore, Maryland, Robert was a man whose vibrant spirit and deep love for his family and country touched all who knew him.
A proud graduate of the University of Baltimore, Bob dedicated over four decades of his life working as a Supervisor, contributing significantly to the industry and setting an example of dedication and integrity for those who followed. His early years also included honorable service in the United States Marines, where he nurtured a profound love for his country that stayed with him throughout his life.
Bob's zest for life was evident in his many passions. He was a proud member of the Elks Club and found great joy in spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and crabbing with his family. He was a man who enjoyed a good glass of Canadian whiskey and a cigar from time to time. A dedicated sports enthusiast, he was a loyal supporter of the Baltimore Colts, Ravens, Terps and Orioles. His early experiences playing football in school kindled a lasting passion for the game. Known for his wittiness, Bob had a gift for keeping those around him laughing, even past his prime years.
Survived by his devoted wife, Donna Jean Weltner, Bob leaves a legacy of love and laughter. He is also survived by his son, Robert "Rob" E. Weltner, Jr., and his significant other, Wendy (Holtzman) Hobson; his cherished grandchildren, Robert "Bobby" E. Weltner, III, and his wife Erica, and Dalton M. Weltner and his partner Brooke Davis; and his great-grandchild, Emersyn Weltner.
Bob was preceded in death by his loving parents, William Ernest Weltner and Lillian Eney. His memory will be forever treasured by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure to know him.
Friends and family are invited to gather for a visitation at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena, Maryland, on Monday, October 20th, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm to honor and celebrate Robert's remarkable life. Interment will take place immediately following funeral services at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
In every crab feast, football game, hunting camp, Island Time on Chincoteague Island, and family gathering, Bob's memory will live on, as will the sound of gentle laughter he inspired.
