Ruby Fleetwood Obituary
She was a member of the Vallonia Christian Church where she had been a part of the "Keenager" group. She retired from Smith Cabinet Factory in 1984 and then worked part-time at the Vallonia Tree Nursery for several years.
She was born on March 28, 1919 in Clark County, Indiana to Chester and Effie Lee Guernsey. On Jan. 13, 1940 she married Willard D. Fleetwood in Jeffersonville and he passed away on Feb. 19, 1989.
Survivors include, Willard E. "Gene" (Teedee) Fleetwood of Seymour, Sharon (Carl) Silence of Seymour, Charlotte (Gary) Veach of Vallonia, Frances Hunt of Hamilton, Ohio, Donald L. Fleetwood of Brownstown, and Anthony Fleetwood of Vallonia; one sister, Pearl Andrews of Martinsburg; 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Ralph Guernsey, a half-brother, Roy Lee, one grandson, Jamie York, and a daughter-in-law, Sherry Fleetwood.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 18 at 11 a.m. with Jerry Wheeler and Chris Criminger officiating.
Friends may call Tuesday, June 17 from 4 to 8 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday.
Memorials may be given to the Hoosier Christian Village, Vallonia Christian Church, or the Alzheimer's Association.
