Frederick Wattenberg Obituary

U.S. veteran Frederick Joseph Wattenberg passed away Nov. 15. He was 84 years old.
Frederick was born in Fort Lupton to Henry and Louise Wattenberg. He was raised on the family farm. He attended Fort Lupton schools, graduating in 1949. After graduation, Frederick served in the United States Air Force.
He married Jeannine Orecchio Sept. 17, 1955. They had one son, Gary, born June 26, 1956. Frederick worked at family gas stations in Brighton. He was also employed with Loudermilk, in Allenspark. He worked as a pipe fitter for Coors, where he retired in 1994.
Frederick purchased a ranch in Cedaredge, where he enjoyed his horses and farm animals. He enjoyed hunting with his family and meeting his friends daily for breakfast. He loved horses, camping and the outdoors. He was a country music fan. He loved his church and classic cars.
Frederick was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Florence Conner; and one brother, Robert. He is survived by his son Gary (fiancé Kathy); his friend and caregiver Jeannine; two brothers; one sister; many nieces, nephews, friends and friends.
A celebration of life will be at a later date. In lieu flowers, donations may be made to Golden Fire Department, 911 10th St., Golden 80401, or to St. Augustine's Catholic Church, 178 S. Sixth Ave., Brighton 80601.
