Anthony Thomas Obituary
Anthony Leon "Tony" Thomas, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and church member, passed away peacefully on Oct. 27, 2025. Born and raised in the Arco Community of Glynn County, he was revered as a man of deep faith, compassion and a love of service to others; qualities he learned at home and strengthened through his faith walk.
The early years of Tony's education were at the Arco Elementary School. He went on to graduate from Risley High School with the Class of 1966. After graduation, he spent time working at Thiokol in Woodbine, just prior to the explosion. Tony later joined the U.S. Air Force and after retirement, returned home. He received his certification in HVAC from Brunswick Junior College. Tony was a dedicated member of Grace United Methodist Church of Brunswick. He encouraged others to know the Lord, and to walk in faith and love through Jesus Christ.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 41 beautiful years, Debra Thomas; five loving daughters, Dana Thomas, Dwan Thomas-Flowers, Dawn (Donna) Wynn, Valerie (James) Thomas and Deanna (Rafael) Clinch; one sister, Cynthia (Willie) Burton; two brothers, Reginald Thomas and Michael (Nagene) Thomas; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 1221 Egmont St., Brunswick.
Interment, with military honors, will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, 3301 Newcastle St., Brunswick.
