Galin Hall Obituary

Galin Hall Sr.

Galin Bradford Hall Sr., 60, of Brunswick, passed away peacefully in his sleep during the early morning hours on Nov. 1, 2025. He is now with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in his heavenly home.

Born on May 2, 1965, Galin lived a full and joyful life marked by laughter, generosity and a deep love for family and friends.

A proud resident of Brunswick, Galin was a life member of the First Baptist Church of Brunswick and a 1983 graduate of Glynn Academy. He built a successful career as a managing partner in high-end restaurants, where his hospitality, humor and passion for great food made everyone feel at home. He was known for his outgoing nature, his quick wit and his ability to make any gathering brighter.

His restaurant career started at his dad's Western Sizzlin in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and then followed in local restaurants in the Golden Isles, which included The Emmeline and Hessie, The 4th of May, The King and Prince, his own Whitaker's, Mullet Bay, Tramici, Sago at Sea Palms, 1509, and Wolf Island - ending with two of the busiest days of the year for restaurants in the Golden Isles, Georgia-Florida, where he thrived hosting so many old friends and new.

Galin was also a founding board of directors member of AfterMedia LLC, which specializes in recognizing "Heroes" in public school systems and military personnel providing these "Heroes" with vacations for their outstanding service.

Outside of work, Galin found happiness in simple pleasures - fishing, cooking, working with his hands and spending time with those he loved most. His children, Alexandria and Bradford, were his most precious blessings on this earth. Bonfires, making s'mores with them, "controlled debris burns" and "chillin'" in the backyard or sunroom, overlooking the marsh, with family and friends was his ultimate Happy Place. Also, special to him was becoming a part of the Pre-K Sunday School Teaching Team at First Baptist Church. He loved being one of his children's Sunday School teachers and remained a part of that teaching team well after they attended and his oldest graduated from high school. He was also in his element being a part of the Usher Team at First Baptist Church, where he served for years enjoying making sure those entering the doors felt welcomed and appreciated. He will be remembered for his warmth, his easy laughter, his gift for bringing people together and for being the best dad ever.

Galin is survived by his children, Alexandria Kate Hall and Galin Bradford Hall Jr.; his sister, Tami Hall Stogner and husband, Michael; and brothers, William Craig Hall and wife, Kathy, and Olin Hall III and wife, Debbie.

He is also survived by his nieces, Sunny Hall Stogner, Samantha Park Stogner and fiancé, Alex Ward, Michael Marie Stogner, Holly Lucile Hall, Maggie Swift Avila and husband, Addison, and Katie Swift and husband, Jeremy Hodge; and his nephew, Kenyon Craig Hall and wife, Jennifer.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Olin Griner "Sonny" Hall Jr. and Mary Young Hall Harden; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Olin Griner Hall Sr. and Mrs. Alva Clyde Young.

A visitation will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025, at Edo Miller & Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Brunswick, with Dr. Chris Winford and the Rev. Jim Crandall officiating.

Interment will follow in Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery with Todd Barry, Stephen Brown, Will Carter, Mike Dowdy, John Durden, Scott Holland, Jack Kilgore, Kelly Lewis, Josh Nichols, Frank Taylor, Clay Wilson and Larry Wilson serving as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be the 3-, 4- and 5-year-old Sunday School leadership team and the Usher Team at First Baptist Church, Rod Brown, Joe Carter, Melissa Minix, Brandt Mitchell and David Olivia.

Galin's legacy of kindness, humor and hospitality will live on in all who knew and loved him. In Galin's honor, memorials may be made to the Galin B. Hall Memorial Fund for His Children at South Coast Bank or the First Baptist Church of Brunswick.

Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, www.edomillerrandsons.com, is in charge of the arrangements.

Dear family of Galin. Galin was a kind and welcoming human being. One of the first to make Angie and I feel like the Golden Isles and FBC Brunswick were the home we were hoping to find here. We loved the hospitality that Galin was famous for in his restaurant management career. He was so proud of being a dad to his children and a mentor to so many young people in the Golden Isles. Galin just brightened your day no matter what kind of day you were having. He was the kindest man anyone could possibly know. I can't say enough about this follower of Jesus Christ. We all have a better life having had the honor of knowing Galin. May your example be carried on by your family, friends, and workers that knew you.
