Isabel Tyler

Isabel Lee Hancock Tyler, 92, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, on June 20, 2025.

Born on May 23, 1933, in Newport News, Virginia, Isabel grew up in Brunswick, and spent most of her adult life in Adairville, Kentucky.

Isabel was known for her deep love of nature and the outdoors. An avid fisherman, she looked forward each year to taking extended fishing trips with her sister, Harriet Roberson. She also enjoyed hunting and collecting arrowheads. A lifelong fan of UK basketball, she rarely missed a game and cheered with fierce loyalty.

A woman of creativity and hard work, Isabel owned and operated a florist shop for many years, bringing beauty into the lives of those in her community. She also loved to travel, eager to explore new places and make lasting memories.

A Christian, Isabel was a member of the United Methodist Church in Adairville, where she found both faith and fellowship.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Mason Tyler; her son, Robert Tyler; and her brother, William Hancock.

Isabel is survived by six children, Paul Cooper, Terry Lane, Linda Alexander, Marisa Tyler, Jimmy Tyler and Jacque Robertson; her siblings, Harriet Roberson of Brunswick and James Hancock; 19 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren

Her legacy lives on in each of them, in the values she instilled and the memories they carry.

She was cremated and celebration of life will be held on July 19 at Adairville United Methodist Church, where friends and family will gather to honor her.
