John Lee Obituary

John Lee

John "Johnny" Douglas Lee, of Brunswick, passed away on Nov. 26, 2025.

Born on April 2, 1951 in Macon, Johnny spent most of his life in Macon. He graduated from Dudley Hughes High School in 1969. Johnny decided law enforcement was his career calling, where he served more than 32 years as a police officer in Macon, retiring in June of 2008.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Harry T. Lee and Maenolia Bell Lee; and brother-in-law, Tommy Fulford.

He is survived by his daughter, Cathy Simpson; granddaughter, Brooke; his beloved sister and best friend, Glynda Fulford; brother, Gene Lee (Bonnie); nephews Todd Lee, Tony Lee (Diana), Brent Edney (Reecie), Kyle Edney (Lori); nieces, Wendy Pheil (David) and Beth Whited; as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

After retirement from the Macon P.D., Johnny relocated to Brunswick to be near his family. Johnny had a kind heart and a loving spirit, and we are confident that he now resides with Jesus, his Lord and Savior.

A service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025, at Blythe Island Baptist Church in Brunswick.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia.

Chapman Funeral Chapel & Crematory has been entrusted with the arrangements.
