Adair Field

Grandmother, Mother, Sister, Aunt, Friend

Marion Adair Field, 75, of Saint Simons Island, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025.

She was predeceased by her parents, George Vincent Dodd and Marion Frawley Dodd; and brother, George Vincent Dodd.

She is survived by her husband, Peter Field; son, Matthew Field; sister, Laura Birss; granddaughter, Lucy Adair Field; and several nieces and nephews.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Adair expanded her world residing at various times in Amityville, New York, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Saint Bruno, Quebec, Canada, Emporia, Kansas, Greensboro, and finally settling on Saint Simons Island.

She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Sag Harbor, Long Island, New York. She received a bachelor's degree from Florida Atlantic University and master's degree from Nova Southeastern University.

She had two long and successful careers. The first in manufacturing operations and the second (her favorite) spanning over 20 years helping others as a residential real estate agent/broker.

Adair found many joys in life including frequent beach walks, bicycle rides, rounds of golf, swimming and reading. She particularly enjoyed resting at the beach or by her backyard pool. Most important to Adair was meeting people and developing new and lasting friendships. She greeted all with a smile, a pleasing personality and a genuine concern for their well-being.

A celebration of Adair's life will be held on Jan. 15, 2026.
