Family of Shirley Hegedis,
My sincerest sympathies to each one of you. Shirley was undoubtedly the must colorful character I have ever met. I met her when I was in middle school. She was the mom of 2 of my friends/classmates. Going to her house was always a pleasure. She made everyone feel welcomed. And you could talk with her about almost anything.
Years later I worked with her in WVU Hospital, the old hospital. She was a nurses aide along with me. That was 1978 into 1979. I left early in 79 to go to LPN school. I didn't work with her after that as I went into NSDU. I still ran into her from time to time. And I had the pleasure of talking with her several months ago when she was in We Care. She was her usual happy bubbly self.
Knowing I will not see her or hear her voice again saddens me. I hope I will see her again one fine day.
God rest your soul, Shirley

My sincere sympathy and condolences to the Hegedis/Cumpston family. Shirley was mom and friend to all of us. I'll always remember her kindness and consideration she showed everyone. God bless her, eternal peace, I will surely miss her.
