Bob R. Matthews, 91, of Little Rock, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 30, 2022. He was born July 10, 1931, in Conway, Arkansas, to Floyd and Mattie Matthews. Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Johnny Matthews; son, Steve Matthews; and his parents.
Bob graduated from Morrilton High School and attended Arkansas State Teachers college. He retired from SWB/AT&T after 30 years working in Pine Bluff, Newport and Little Rock. He served 20 years in the Arkansas National Guard.
Left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Ann Ingram (David) and Lynda Burke (Jim). He is also survived by five grandchildren, Matt Burke, Bobby Burke (Heather), Chris Matthews, Rachel O'Quinn, and Molly Ingram-Baker (Cory); and seven great grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service for the family on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Conway at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to Arkansas Christian Children's Home, 100 W. Harding St, Morrilton, AR
