James "Jim" M. Lockhart, age 88, of Conway, passed away Sept. 27, 2021, in Chi St Vincent Hospital in Hot Spring. He was born Sept. 9, 1933, in Hughes, to the late Madison K. Lockhart and Thelma Sossaman Lockhart.
Jim is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Lyla B. Lockhart.
He graduated from Forrest City High School in 1951. Jim attended the University of Arkansas and Northwest Mississippi College. He then proudly served in the US Army. Jim worked as a poultry broker before retiring to Conway.
He lived most of his adult life in Hope, where he raised his children. Jim had a lifelong love of sports and love of refereeing high school football for many years. He loved camping, being with family and grilling outside.
Jim is survived by his brother, Vernon Lockhart (Louise) of Forrest City; son, Lyle Lockhart (Jana) of Conway; son, Clay Lockhart of McKinney, Texas; and daughter, Shalah Honeycutt of Hot Springs, fiance, Garry Findley; sister-in-law, Phala Riffel (Ed) of Little Rock; four grandchildren, Chris, Katy, Michael and Cyle; five great-grandchildren; two nieces; and two nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 3, at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, with visitation one hour prior.
The family requests all in attendance wear masks.
