Jeffrey Clanton
1976 - 2021

It is with profound sadness and regret that our family announces the sudden passing of our beloved son, brother, and friend, Jeffrey Edward Clanton, on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021.

Jeff was born to Dr. Jesse Clanton and Rose Mary Clanton on March 31, 1976, in Midwest City, Oklahoma. He grew up primarily in Little Rock and Conway and was surrounded and well-loved by many family and friends in the area. In recent years, Jeff had relocated to Keller, Texas, where he worked in the oil and gas research industry. There he shared a home with his beloved wife, Michelle Donley Clanton; and his two step-children, Madi and Joe; whom he doted on.

Also left behind to cherish his memory are his mother, Rose Mary Clanton, of Little Rock; his father, Dr. Jesse Clanton and wife, Sharon, of Dardanelle; Linda Clanton, his stepmother, with whom he shared a special bond, of Conway; his two younger sisters, Jaimie Clanton Brown, of Hot Springs, and Jessica Clanton Williams and husband, Derek, of Conway; as well as numerous close cousins, aunts and uncles, and nieces and nephews.

Jeff was universally adored by his family, but particularly the kids, who at holidays would always run to be the first to wrestle or be tossed in the air by Uncle Jeff. The rest of us will remember his playful teasing, his infectious laughter, his great big bearhugs, and the smell of quesadillas wafting from the kitchen. Jeff was highly regarded by countless friends and colleagues both here in central Arkansas and in the oil and gas community scattered across the country. Jeff had a way of making friends wherever he went.

His unexpected passing leaves a gaping wound in all of our hearts and lives, but we honor him by preserving his memory and spirit. The family intends to honor Jeff's wishes to be cremated, with ashes to be scattered privately in the Gulf at a later date. We will be holding an informal, secular memorial service to honor his life from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16, at 422 Conway Blvd., Conway, Arkansas.

All who knew Jeff are welcome to drop by and share your memories. Light refreshments will be available. Please carpool when possible, and park across the street. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jeff's name to The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
