Joyce Annette Owens Keller, 85, passed away on March 5, 2023, at Hillcrest Home in Harrison, Arkansas. A former resident of Greenbrier, Arkansas, for many years. Joyce was born on Aug. 1, 1937, in Denton, Texas, to William Everett and Ruby Kemp Owens.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children, Samuel Paul Keller, Sr.; and a granddaughter, Shiloh Keller Mitchell.
She is survived by her sons, Samuel Paul Keller, Jr. and William Kyle (Susan) Keller all of Harrison, Arkansas; her brother, Harlan David Owens; and her sister, Patsy Nell Owens of Greenbrier, Arkansas; her grandchildren, William J. "Bill" (Emily) Keller of Conway, Arkansas, and Shelby N. Keller of Dallas, Texas; her step-grandchildren, Kara James of Harrison, Arkansas, and Tommy James of Greenbrier, Arkansas; her great-grandchildren, Aspen Keller, Christian Anderson, Shannan Keller and Amanda "Mandy" Keller. Her step great-grandchildren, Gage Escarciga and Karlee Smith.
Joyce was raised in Dallas, Texas, and she was a proud Texas woman. She attended Texas Woman's University and North Texas State University in Denton, Texas. She was employed as a dental assistant, worked at Arkavalley dairy, a housemother at Henderson State University, a Conway Human Development Center (CHDC) caregiver, a home health care provider, and a grandparent at Greenbrier Elementary Schools.
Joyce loved her family and enjoyed taking the older grandchildren on trips. She enjoyed gardening and her flowers and vegetable garden flourished under her care. She especially liked to put on her rubber boots and push mow her yard. She also loved Elvis Presley and her trip to Graceland as well as collecting Elvis recordings and memorabilia.
Funeral Service will be Friday, March 10, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier, Arkansas. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Cooper Creek Cemetery in Denton, Texas at 2 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2023.
