Mae Stephens, 91, of Conway, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022 in Conway, Arkansas. Mrs. Stephens was born Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1930, in Conway, Arkansas, to the late Bernice Carmichael and Dora Keller Carmichael.
Mae was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Conway, Arkansas, for over 70 years. She owned and operated Stephens Grocery and Bait Shop with her husband for many years and worked for S.A.S. Shoes for several years as well. Mae enjoyed sewing, gardening, traveling, reading and word search puzzles.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Lewis Paul Stephens, Jr. (Oneida) of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas and Jeff Stephens (Anita) of Greenbrier, Arkansas; one daughter, Marilyn Bryson of Dardanelle, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Lewis Paul Stephens III, Wesley Stephens, Greg Stephens, Taylor Garcia, Benjamin Stephens, Matthew Stephens; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends.
Mrs. Stephens is preceded in death by, her parents, her husband of over fifty-one years, L.P. Stephens, three brothers, and one sister.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Stephens will be 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2022, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, Arkansas. Visitation will be one hour prior. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Conway, Arkansas. Brother Kent Britton will officiate.
