Patsy Hannah Norman Obituary

Patsy Marie Hannah Norman was born March 12, 1929, in Jonesboro, Ark., and passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014.
She was the second of four children born to Louis and Bessie Hannah.
Raised in rural Craighead County, she played basketball and graduated from Valley View High School.
Her high school sweetheart, Bill Norman, enlisted in the Navy at age 17 to serve during World War II. Soon after he returned they were married - Nov. 30, 1947. Prior to his death in 2013, they celebrated 66 years of marriage.
Initially they made their home in Jonesboro, where they shared their time and love with friends at Mt. Carmel Methodist Church. They were blessed with two sons.
Opportunity led them to Brinkley, Ark., where they worked, owned businesses and farmed. First United Methodist Church became a cornerstone in their lives where Patsy served as secretary for numerous years.
Later in life they moved to Conway, to be closer to their sons and grandchildren. Grace United Methodist Church welcomed them and became the center of their life with more people to love and serve.
Patsy Norman's life would remind some of Jimmy Stewart in the movie "It's a Wonderful Life." There always was work to do, and cakes, pies, and casseroles to be baked and delivered to someone hurting or in need. There were missions to serve, an ear to lend, and kids to deliver to and from events. She loved and gave of her time and talents, never thinking of reward or the impact she had on others.
She was known as Patsy, Pat, Momma, and Memaw. We will miss her but praise God in the knowledge we will meet again.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Melba Irvin and Jane Davis; and brother, Jim Hannah.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Robert A (Bob) Norman and wife Brenda of Solgohachia, Ark., and Michael L (Mike) Norman and wife Ann of Conway.
Four grandchildren, William (Bill) Norman and wife Michelle, and Jeffrey (Jeff) Norman and wife Sarah, both of Bentonville, Ark., Hannah V Norman and Andrew R Norman of Conway; and great-grandchildren, Katherine, Matthew, Robbie, and Jocylen, all of Bentonville.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2014, at Grace United Methodist Church, Conway.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, Jonesboro; Brinkley FUMC; Grace United Methodist Church, Conway; or Arkansas Hospice.
Service and arrangements are by Bob Neal and Sons Funeral Home, #5 Bruce St., Morrilton, AR 72110; 501-354-1638.

Mike and Bobby,
I'm saddened to hear of Aunt Patsy's passing. I have fond memories of visiting your home in Brinkley with Dad when we were little, and being there my last time at the family reunion, when I was in my early twenties. Always a fun and welcoming place. You and your families are in my thoughts and prayers.
