Audry "Audra" M. Thornhill

Sun City West, AZ - Audry "Audra" M. Thornhill 83, a resident of Sun City West, AZ since 2005 received her Angel Wings April 29, 2021 quietly at home surrounded by her family after a major stroke in March. She settled in California early 1960's and spent over 45 years in the Salinas Valley. A graduate of Hartnell College she worked at Monterey Municipal County Court as a Court Clerk for many years and later with State of California EDD as an EPR from which she retired in 1993. She was a member of Legal Secretaries of America, American Municipal Court Clerks, PERS and IAPES.

She loved American history, ancestry, old movies, music and nature's beauty. Her heart as big as the state she was born in (Texas) was evident as she enjoyed helping others preparing food or taking them on errands. She was a volunteer for The Salinas Air Show and Monterey County Festival of Wine & Food in the 80's and 90's and shared her love of books as a volunteer reading to children.

Audra is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, John, children Marla (Bob) Watkins, Don (Ann Marie) Hestand, Kathy (Joseph) Woods, Roger (Juli) Vrbas and Steven (Michelle) Thornhill, 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and her brother Rev. Rickey (Bess) Hatter and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family. She is preceded in death by her mother Pearl M. Hatter in 1992.

Audra faced challenges head on with enormous strength and courage. Her twinkling eyes, beautiful smile and larger than life laugh along with her "whatever" and "I Love you to the moon & back & beyond" will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life will be held June 26, 2021 in Sun City West, AZ at their home.

Such a very special Lady whom I've known, admired and loved most of my life. She will always hold a special place in my heart and I will treasure all the memories of times spent with her and her family. It's hard to imagine a world without Audry in it.....

Rest in peace sweet lady, I will never forget you.....
