Buddy Fallon Obituary

SALINAS
Buddy James Fallon, 74, of Salinas, passed away Monday, May 25, 2009, among his loving family after a lengthy illness.
He was born March 19, 1935, in Castroville, to Clarence "Spike" and Lillie (Schreiber) Fallon. His father was in agriculture and taught him from a very young age about it. He also worked for his father before becoming interested in flying and at the age of around 16 obtained his pilots license. He began to work as a crop duster in the Salinas Valley in the 1960's. In the early 1970's he obtained his Pest Control License (PCA) and worked as manager for Occidental Chemical in Salinas. A few years later he worked as a PCA for Moyer Chemical in Salinas where he met his business partner today, Scott Nishihara, who was just beginning his career as a PCA.
They both decided to start their own company, BudSco Chemical, that is still in operation today after 33 years in business. With the help of their families by their sides, it has become a solid operation that will continue to thrive in the years to come. Buddy was instrumental in starting Ocean Chemical, that is a branch of BudSco and two other Ag companies in Greenfield and Castroville in 1997, and continued as its President until his passing. He was a member of CAPCA and was a licensed PCA and QAL. His passion for flying has continued throughout his life since he was 16. He has owned many planes in his lifetime and currently has a plane at the Salinas Airport. He enjoyed each Saturday going to the Salinas Airport, sitting in his hanger and reading the daily newspaper. He adored his children and grandchildren, who were brought up at BudSco right along side him. He was an inspiration to his company and family, and the loss of his strength will be overwhelming.
Survivors: Daughter, Lori Hobbs (John) of Santa Cruz; sons, Erick Fallon (Cheryl) of Salinas and Mark (Cathy) Fallon of Paradise; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife and lifelong companion, Eileen (Rodgers) Fallon; his parents, Clarence "Spike" and Lillie Fallon, and his only brother, Gary Fallon.
Visitation: From 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 28, at Whitehurst Muller Chapel, 41 E. Alisal St., Salinas.

Dear Lori, Eric and Mark,
"When God takes a loved one away from us, he leaves the best part in our hearts".
I will cherish the many happy memories at Budsco and of your Dad who will finally join the love of his life---your Mom. He was a kind and generous man to those he cared about.
You Fallons showed me what a loving family was all about.
God be with you in your time of loss.
Love, Valerie Robinson
