Dorothy Doud

Dorothy Doud, 100, of Salinas, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013. Dorothy was born November 1, 1912 in Terrebone, LA and moved to Gonzales as a child and eventually settled in Salinas.

Dorothy previously served as an active member of Saint Mary's Church Alter Society, YLI, N.A.R.F.E, Catholic Daughters, and Feeding the Hungry Program.

Gracious and strong in life and death, she will be deeply missed by those whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth R. Doud; her parents, William R. Bernard and Ethel A. Smith; and siblings, William (Bill) Bernard, Robert Bernard, and Richard Bernard.

She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Violet, Doris, and Evelyn; nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Struve Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis St., Salinas, CA 93901. Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be held Friday, March 1, 2013 at 1:00 p.m., at Madonna Del Sasso Church, 320 E. Laurel Dr., Salinas, CA 93906.

Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 18200 Damian Way, Salinas, CA 93907.
