Janet Sorenson
Janet Sorenson was born Nene Nakada in the Nakano Borough of Tokyo on December 24, 1940.
Her father, Shinsaku Nakada and mother, Yasuko Nakada emigrated from Korea to Japan.
She was preceded in death by her older brother, Yoshinobu Nakada and her father, Shinsaku Nakada.
She is survived by her mother, Yasuko Nakada; her older sister, Aiko (Nakada) Shibayama; two younger brothers, Yoshio Nakada and Yoshisa Nakada; and her son, Christopher.
Janet was married to Norval Sorenson and they were later divorced. They had one son, Christopher. Janet was a graduate of Meiji University in Tokyo and later earned a degree at CSUMB. Janet was a skillful, dedicated and enthusiastic piano teacher who taught piano at Gadsby's Music Store as well as at her home. She dearly loved her son, Chris and her family in Japan. She will be missed by her friends, neighbors and piano students.
Services will be held Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 2 p.m., at Lincoln Avenue Presbyterian Church, 536 Lincoln Ave., Salinas, CA 93901.

Janet was a dear friend and excellent piano teacher. I will greatly miss Janet's energy and enthusiasm for life. Her friendship and talent will be cherished by those of us who were fortunate enough to have known her. May Janet rest in peace and may God bless Janet's family during this difficult time. Janet (NeNe) to us was a beautiful person and love music. She was a sister in Christ and a sweet neigbhor. We do miss her sweet spirit
and pray for Christopher at this difficult time. She will be missed by all who knew her and enjoyed her talent with her piano music.
