Kristopher J. Nunes
Kristopher passed away at the age of 50 on September 23, 2020 after a long courageous battle with kidney disease. Kris grew up in Salinas, went to North Salinas High School, where he joined FFA and raised pigs for the fairs. He was also a member of the High School Rodeo Association, where he rode bulls and saddle bronc. He was also a little league coach at Ferrasci Park, where he received a coach of the year plaque and also plaque for manager of Ferrasci All Star team in 1997. He loved spending time with family when he could, had a great sense of humor, and a great memory for telling stories of the past. Kris attended and enjoyed watching Nascar Races, and his favorite sports teams, Warriors, Giants and Raiders. Kris was an avid collector of sports memorabilia. Kris is preceded in death by his cat "Lucky" of 20 years, Grandparents Adolph and Elvira Espinosa. He is survived by his parents, Romald and main caregiver & mother Judy (whom he loved so much), sister Tiffany Erwin (Jay) and niece Madison Haarsager (Dakota). Family would like to thank Kris' numerous health care professionals, especially Dr. Michael Dicus and SVMH for the excellent care Kris received, throughout the last 20 years. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., at the Nunes residence, 2 San Carlos in Salinas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SPCA or your favorite charity
