Mildred Myhre Obituary
Mildred Wanita Myhre, 89, of Salinas, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, at Pacific Coast Care Center in Salinas.
She was born Aug. 29, 1920, in Phoenix, Ariz. Mildred retired as a doctor's assistant having worked with Dr. MacGlashan for more than 20 years.
Mildred was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Wisteria Circle No. 102 of Salinas, AMVETS Auxillary No. 56, VFW Auxillary No. 7895, Monterey County Historical Society, Alliance on Aging, Carpenter's Retiree Club No. 13, Active Seniors of Salinas and Widowed Persons Association of California. She was a retired SVMH Volunteer and RSVP Program of Santa Cruz Volunteer.
Survivors: Daughter, Arene Myhre of Scottsdale, Ariz.; son, Aron Myhre, Jr. of Salinas; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Fannie "Fran" Stapleton of San Antonio, Texas; sister-in-law, Alpha Myhre of Salinas; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband, Aron Myhre; and brothers, Ennis and Richard Hilbrant.
Visitation: From 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17 and from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, at Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Road, Salinas.
Graveside services: 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 850 Abbott St., Salinas.
Memorial service: 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 580 Larkin St., Salinas.
Memorials: Contributions may be made to Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 580 Larkin St., Salinas; SVMH Foundation, 450 E. Romie Lane, Salinas, Calif. 93901.

So sorry for your loss. I was a friend of Airen's years ago and had seen Midred throughout the years and always enjoyed visiting with her.

Arene - so sorry to read of your mother's passing. Brings back so many memories of how many hours I sepent in your home during our high school days. Mildred was a 2nd mother to me during those years.
