Patricia Mairose Obituary
Salinas - Patricia (Pat) Mae Mairose, 84, passed away peacefully at her home in Salinas on December 9, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.
Pat was born in Hollister, CA on December 22, 1935, the only child of George and Margaret Gutierrez. Early on the family moved to the New Idria Mines where she was raised together with her extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. The family eventually moved back to Hollister while Pat was in elementary school. Pat met her husband Ron in 1958 when he moved to Hollister from North Dakota. They married on Easter Sunday, April 2, 1961 and settled in Salinas in 1962 where they raised their three children.
Pat loved traveling the country with her husband in their RV, where they visited 49 states, and meeting many good friends along the way. She enjoyed watching sports, especially the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Dodgers, as well as watching and attending NASCAR races. She was an avid crafter, including crocheting, painting and all different kinds of crafts. While the kids were in school, she was very involved and enjoyed being a parent chaperone on their field trips.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, George and Margaret Gutierrez.
Pat is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ronald Mairose, children Monica (John) Cantrell, Melissa Mairose and Mark Mairose, grandchildren Thomas Cantrell, Jonathan (Daneille) Cantrell, Tiffany (Austin) Cantrell, Amanda Mairose and Brittinee Mairose, and great-children Hayden Cantrell, Joshua Cantrell, Bennett Cantrell, Aaralyn Cantrell and two new additions in 2021. Pat is also survived by her cousin and best friend, Edythe Braly. She was also "Mom" and "Grandma" to her bonus families.
A Catholic mass was held on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Madonna del Sasso Church, and she was laid to rest at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Prunedale.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
